Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the MacPadPlus macOS application and the public support website at madmunky.github.io/MacPadPlusPlus-public.

2. Core Privacy Approach

MacPadPlus is designed as a local editor. Your document content is processed on your Mac, and the app does not upload your file contents to MacPadPlus-operated servers for analytics, advertising, or profiling.

3. Data Processed by the App

The app may process and store the following data locally on your device:

• Files you open or edit (from locations you choose).
• Editor settings and preferences.
• Recent-file metadata for convenience.
• Macro and workflow state needed for in-app features.

This information is used only to provide core editor functionality on your Mac.

4. Permissions

MacPadPlus accesses files you explicitly open. Some optional advanced macro behavior may require macOS Accessibility permissions when enabled by you. Permissions are controlled by macOS system settings.

5. Feedback and Bug Reports

If you submit feedback via GitHub Issues, the information you provide (for example: issue text, screenshots, logs, and account details) is processed by GitHub. Only submit information you are comfortable sharing.

6. Website Hosting and Third Parties

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages and uses GitHub Issues for feedback. GitHub may process technical request data (such as IP address and browser metadata) as part of normal hosting and platform operations.

7. Data Retention

• Local app data remains on your device until removed by you.
• Feedback submitted through GitHub may remain visible until edited or deleted, subject to GitHub and repository policies.

8. Security

Reasonable measures are used to protect project infrastructure and source repositories. However, no system can guarantee absolute security. Avoid including sensitive personal data in public issue reports.

9. Children’s Privacy

MacPadPlus is not directed to children under 13, and we do not intentionally collect personal information from children through the app.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect product or legal changes. Updates are published on this page with a revised effective date.
